Metabrasive manufactures Refined Iron ingots to the individual customer's specification. The material is intended for remelt as a prime raw material or an addition with other raw materials to provide the metal required for casting into forms. Ingots may also be used for ballast purposes.

We supply Refined Iron in 5 to 15 Kg ingots complete with centre notch for easy breaking. The material, which is machine cast, is supplied free of sand and dross and each consignment can be accompanied by a relevant analysis certificate. The material can be supplied loose or more usually packed on Europallets. Palleted material is shrink-wrapped to ensure security and prevent moisture ingress and additional cargo security can be achieved by the use of shipping collars, particularly for export.

The advantage of specifying material from Metabrasive Ltd is that you the customer may be reassured that the material you are melting exactly meets your requirements without any additional metallurgical analysis. This advantage has been accepted by the Aluminium Smelting industry where we have considerable experience of supplying both Anode and Cathode sealing iron. It has also found a niche with small foundries such as those normally casting brass who have a spot order for an iron casting. A major product is Grade 260 Grey Iron.
