Metabrasive Steel Shot is a spherical product of hypereutectoid steel in the fully heat
treated condition. It has a uniform structure of finely tempered martensite which
provides optimum resilience and resistance to fatigue.
Steel shot is ‘round' as supplied and remains so throughout its working life. It is
the optimum abrasive for many wheel blast applications, its durability and resistance
to impact fatigue give high cleaning efficiency and econmy.
Steel Shot is also suited to shot peening applications where the shot is supplied in
either standard or special hardness.
Hard - cleans rapidly and efficiently. Resilient - has exceptional service life. Multiple Impacts - shot multiplies its efficiency by the ricochet
effect. This increases the potential of the shot to reach areas which are inaccessible
by direct blasting. Round - formed during manufacture and remains round throughout its
service life, providing; a well balanced operating mix and minimising wear in the
machine.
Metabrasive Steel Shot is made in accordance with ISO 11124-3 : 1993, (BS7079: Part
E3 : 1994).
Size ranges vary from S070, nominal size 0.007” (0.18 mm), to S780, nominal size
